Jakarta, 10 August 2026 — BTI Defence welcomed a visit from the Indonesian National Defence Council (Dewan Pertahanan Nasional/DPN) at the BTI Defence Workshop as part of the Council’s review of the capabilities and development of Indonesia’s defence industry.
The National Defence Council (DPN) is an institution under the President of the Republic of Indonesia with a strategic role in providing advice and formulating policy recommendations on national defence matters. In the context of the national defence industry, DPN also contributes to strengthening Indonesia’s defence policies and capabilities and supporting the development of a self-reliant, innovative, and capable defence ecosystem.
The visit provided BTI Defence with an opportunity to showcase its experience, technical capabilities, and human resources, which play an important role in supporting Indonesia’s defence requirements.
During the presentation session, BTI Defence highlighted its capabilities in Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), procurement, installation, integration, and defence system modernization. DPN expressed its appreciation for BTI Defence’s experience and capabilities, including the competence of its experienced workforce.
Particular attention was given to BTI Defence’s commitment to retaining and empowering experienced professionals, including retired Indonesian Armed Forces personnel with relevant expertise and certifications. This approach was viewed positively as a means of preserving and continuously developing valuable knowledge and experience within Indonesia’s defence industry.
The visit also provided an open forum to discuss various challenges encountered during project implementation, particularly in integrating systems involving multiple vendors and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). BTI Defence explained its approach of conducting detailed surveys and technical assessments prior to project execution to ensure that technical requirements, system configurations, and integration requirements are thoroughly understood.

Following the presentation and discussion sessions, the DPN delegation conducted a direct review of ongoing activities and projects at the BTI Defence Workshop, including the modernization of the Fire Control System (FCS) for the PT-76 Tank. The project reflects BTI Defence’s capability to develop and integrate modernization solutions for in-service defence platforms, supporting efforts to enhance their operational relevance and capabilities. The review provided a direct insight into how BTI Defence applies its technical expertise and experience in the implementation of defence system modernization.
For BTI Defence, the visit represents an important opportunity to strengthen engagement with national defence stakeholders while reaffirming the company’s commitment to developing its capabilities, human resources, and defence solutions.
